Apple will shut down Dark Sky’s iOS app and website before the end of 2022

It is no secret that Apple will eventually close. After acquiring the company in 2020, it seems that all Dark Sky applications and network tools have finally determined the final deadline for weather services. Developers David Smith and 9to5Mac were informed that Apple will close Dark Sky's iOS applications, websites and APIs at the "end of 2022". This is a year later than originally suggested, but if you use the iOS app or any app based on Dark Sky’s latest forecast,

you still need to plan to switch.

Apple shut down Dark Sky's Android app in August of last year.

There is no doubt that Dark Sky's technology will continue to exist. It plays a role in the more detailed weather forecast in iOS 14 (even if the data comes from The Weather Channel), and iOS 15 will add features such as next-hour precipitation alerts. However, if you prefer Dark Sky as a device-independent weather tool, turning it off will not be exciting.
