Poco C31 announced with Helio G35 SoC and 5,000mAh battery

Let’s welcome Poco’s new C-series smartphone, the Poco C31. It’s an entry-level phone with a pretty decent processor and a robust security system courtesy of a fingerprint scanner that has been tested 600,000 times for secure fingerprint unlocks.

The Poco C31 gets its power from the Helio G35 chipset paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard storage with an option for expansion via a microSD card for up to 512GB.

On the software front, the phone boots on a bit outdated Android 10 out of the box, though Poco says that the phone comes without any advertisements in the UI.

At the front, the phone offers a 6.53-inch 20:9 HD+ screen with TUV Rheinland Reading Mode Certification, while at the top is a notch for the 5MP selfie camera.

The phone’s plastic back has a dual patterned design that makes it look a bit higher priced than usual while completing the looks is a triple camera setup: 13MP main sensor, 2MP macro, and 2MP depth sensor. And just below the camera modules is a Poco logo with a fingerprint scanner below that.

There are also rubberized seals and P2i nano-coating for protecting the SIM tray and ports from moisture, dust, and water splashes, which is a nice touch given the phone’s pricing.

Powering the C31 is a big 5,000mAh battery that is said to easily last through 1,000 charge cycles, not only making it an endurance champ but less of a headache for maintenance.

The Poco C31 goes on sale for a starting price of INR 8,499 (around NPR 14,000 in Nepal)for the 3GB/32GB model and INR 9,499 (around NPR 15,000 in Nepal) for the 4GB/64GB variant. It’s available in Royal Blue and Shadow Grey color options.
